Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground turkey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion, diced
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (7 ounce) can diced green chiles
  • 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained, rinsed
  • 1 (15 ounce) can black beans, drained, rinsed
  • 1-2 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • Toppings: sour cream, shredded cheese, sliced green onion

Instructions

  • Cook ground turkey in a large pot over medium heat until browned.
  • Add minced garlic and diced onion, cooking until softened.
  • Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and diced green chiles.
  • Add kidney beans, black beans, chili powder, cumin, black pepper, salt, garlic powder, and brown sugar.
  • Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve hot with your choice of toppings: sour cream, shredded cheese, and sliced green onion.

Notes

  • Adjust chili powder to taste for more or less heat.
