  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbs hot sauce
  • Oil for frying
    Gravy:
  • 1/4 cup reserved oil from frying
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 2 cup milk
  • Salt & pepper

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, egg, and hot sauce.
  • Heat oil in a large skillet or deep fryer.
  • Dredge chicken breasts in the flour mixture, then dip in the buttermilk mixture, and dredge again in flour.
  • Fry chicken in batches until golden brown and cooked through.
  • For the gravy, use reserved frying oil, stir in flour, and cook until browned. Slowly whisk in milk, then season with salt and pepper.
  • Serve fried chicken with gravy.
