Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder

Cream Cheese Swirl:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Orange food coloring

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Make Brownie Batter: In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until fully combined. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
  • Prepare Cream Cheese Swirl: In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add orange food coloring to create a vibrant orange hue.
  • Create Swirl Effect: Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture on top of the brownie batter. Use a knife or toothpick to swirl the cream cheese mixture into the brownie batter, creating a marbled effect.
  • Bake: Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Cool and Serve: Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • For extra Halloween flair, you can add Halloween sprinkles or candy eyes on top before baking.
  • Store leftover brownies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
