  • 8 chicken thighs (skinless and boneless)
  • 2 tbsp cornflour (cornstarch)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 110 g (1/3 cup) honey
  • 80 ml (1/3 cup) chicken stock
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  • To Serve:
    • 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh parsley
    • ½ tsp chili flakes
    • Boiled rice

Instructions

  • Coat the chicken thighs with cornflour, salt, and pepper.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Cook the chicken thighs for 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant.
  • Stir in honey, chicken stock, rice vinegar, and soy sauce. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet and coat with the sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley and chili flakes. Serve with boiled rice.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, you can brown the chicken under the broiler for 1-2 minutes after cooking.
  • Adjust the amount of chili flakes according to your spice preference.
