  • 1 crusty sub roll or baguette
  • 4 slices salami
  • 4 slices capicola
  • 4 slices ham
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • ¼ cup thinly sliced red onion
  • ¼ cup banana peppers (optional)
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, red wine vinegar, olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
  • Slice the sub roll or baguette lengthwise, leaving one side slightly connected.
  • Spread the prepared dressing evenly on both sides of the bread.
  • Layer the meats (salami, capicola, ham) on the bottom half of the bread.
  • Add the provolone cheese slices on top of the meat.
  • Pile on the shredded lettuce, tomato slices, red onion, and banana peppers (if using).
  • Close the sandwich, pressing lightly, and slice in half if desired.
