  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp instant yeast

  • 2 tbsp plain yogurt

  • 2 tbsp oil or melted butter

  • 3/4 cup warm water

  • Optional: melted butter and chopped garlic for topping

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and yeast.

  • Add yogurt and oil, then gradually mix in warm water to form a soft dough.

  • Knead for 6-8 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rest for 1 hour.

  • Divide dough into 6-8 pieces and roll into oval or round shapes.

  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook each naan for 1-2 minutes per side until puffed and golden.
