  • 3-4 lbs chuck roast
  • 1 packet Italian dressing seasoning mix
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 jar pepperoncini peppers (with juice)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6-8 hoagie rolls
  • Provolone cheese (optional)

Instructions

  • Place the chuck roast in the slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle the Italian dressing mix, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper over the roast.
  • Pour beef broth and pepperoncini peppers (with juice) over the roast.
  • Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until the beef is tender and easily shredded.
  • Shred the beef using two forks and return to the slow cooker to soak in the juices.
  • Serve the shredded beef on hoagie rolls, topping with provolone cheese if desired.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, toast the hoagie rolls before adding the beef.
