  • For the Chicken:
    • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
    • 1 cup buttermilk
    • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 tsp paprika
    • 1 tsp garlic powder
    • 1 tsp onion powder
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • Oil for frying
  • For the Waffles:
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 2 tbsp sugar
    • 2 tsp baking powder
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • ½ tsp salt
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 ¾ cups buttermilk
    • ¼ cup melted butter

Instructions

  • Marinate chicken in buttermilk, salt, pepper, and paprika for at least 1 hour.
  • Mix flour, garlic powder, and onion powder for dredging.
  • Heat oil in a pan, coat chicken in flour mixture, and fry until golden brown (165°F internal temperature).
  • For waffles, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, mix eggs, buttermilk, and melted butter. Combine and cook batter in a waffle iron until golden brown.
  • Serve the crispy chicken atop the waffles, optionally drizzled with maple syrup.
